![]() ![]() ![]() This is something I don’t understand about the Windows “document” abstraction. I've reinstalled SDR to catch up on all the drivers and reinstalled fldigi and the XML file. Now I try to set up the rig control and it doesn't see any of the com ports. Rig control set to none and PTT control set to Vox ( and Vox turned on the Rig with Vox gain / delay adjusted. Fldigi Use Fldigi for CAT > Fldigi takes over CAT control, data is exchanged with RUMlog Host > address where Fldigi is running (127.0. fldigi - Rig Control can't see Device (Com Port from CAT) Nick Member September 2015 edited July 2019 I had fldigi running perfectly prior to Windows 10 upgrade. ![]() You can reset the power to get another 15minutes at any time, it is. Another possible fix would be to restore to default – I think the menu system has this control, probably to fix “killer macros”.Īnother thing is that the folder fldgig.files does not appear under “My Documents” although it is physically in the user profile (directory structure). Power Control If it all goes quiet and the rig not responding as expected, check that the 15minute power limit not been reached. It is the recommended method of control when your transceiver supports CAT operations and has been coded for flrig. Using flrig with fldigi can enhance your digital mode operating experience. Naturally be careful as you can easily mess it up, but if you have the “killer macro” syndrome, this may be one fix. flrig control flrig is a separate program that provides nearly 100 control over more than 60 different transceivers. The macros.mdf file can be edited directly with notepad. If you modify a macro, be advised of the FILE>MACRO>SAVE menu sequence… it may be necessary to do this a couple of times. This is a bug at least in my version, that only shows up if you somehow inadvertently mess up a macro edit. If the mfg configuration is corrupt, like a macro # is missing (this happened to me), fldigi will close as soon as you hit the macro button ( killer macro). However, fldigi expects to talk hamlib or rigcat over serial or xml-rpc over a socket. I use textpad but notepad will work fine. There is a plugin for sdr called net remote that offers JSON based control on a socket. It doesnt matter where you start but you need only configure 'Sound Card'. >Operator : go ahead and populate all : These populate macros Īlthough this must have worked before to save macros, what definitely works is to directly edit … fldigi.files/macros/macros.mdf with a text editor. Click on the 'Configure' menu item to perform the configuration process for fldigi. > Rig > Hamlib - check “Use Hamlib”, Rig “Yaesu FT-857 (beta)”, Device Com5, rearmost USB port, Baudrate 4800 (important), Stopbits 1, Sideband rig mode, PTT via Hamlib command is checked and grayed out, flow controls are unchecked. Vaio Version: 3.21.72 (2012) ( I have an old vaio notebook so this is a note to me…) ![]() Fldigi may also be available on Linux where HRD and DM780 are not. This latter may be important for using the 60M band since on the FT-857, digital modes don’t work – perhaps were not implemented by Yaesu, or maybe plain cannot be made to work … anyone know?Īs of July 2014 I prefer DM780 for digital work, but fldigi has widespread use in the Ham community for emergency operations, and supports all kinds of automation for email relay, message packaging, message security and integrity, is free and enjoys a lot of support. Still I have gotten it to work in basic digital modes, gotten usable macros, successfully setup CAT based rig-control, as well as setup FLDIGI with VOX keying for psk without a CAT cable ( a skill that I’ve momentarily lost through dis-use – note that it’s possible). The audio Tx level can be adjusted in the bottom right part of the main screen. This article is a collection of my notes – don’t expect anything but a few setup clues as I haven’t really studied fldigi thoroughly yet. So maybe using RigCAT is a better solution for the moment. So you start rigctld before running fldigi. Hamlib architectureįldigi doen't auto start a rigctld daemon. Hamlib is not a complete user application, rather, it is a software layer intended to make controlling various radios and other shack hardware much easier. The Ham Radio Control Libraries, Hamlib for short, is a development effort to provide a consistent interface for programmers wanting to incorporate radio control in their programs. You can use Hamlib to connect to the rig. Digirig can control this hardware PTT line via the RTS signal of the serial port. Fldigi includes all the popular modes, such as DominoEX, MFSK16, PSK31, and RTTY.įldigi looks doesn't look that complex, but it supports quiet some modes. The software also controls the radio by means of another connection, typically a serial port.įldigi is multi-mode, which means that it is able to operate many popular digital modes without switching programs, so you only have one program to learn. Fldigi uses the PC sound card as the main means of input from the radio, and output to the radio. Fldigi is a computer program intended for Amateur Radio Digital Modes operation using a PC. ![]()
